Dr. Lasse Lehtonen is a researcher specializing in Japanese music. He completed his Ph.D. at the University of Helsinki in 2018 and has since been affiliated with the University of Tokyo and Tokyo University of the Arts as a visiting scholar. In addition to his academic pursuits, Lehtonen actively organizes concerts and serves as the editor-in-chief of the Finnish Music Quarterly (FMQ) web magazine, which focuses on music and musical life in Finland.

Ari Romppanen is a Finnish composer of contemporary art music, who draws influences for his artistic work from various sources, such as space, virtuosity, or Japanese culture, from which he combines his own characteristic musical language. His output consists mainly of chamber music and works for solo instruments, especially for piano. He has also received many commissions all the way from Japan. Some of his piano works have been awarded in different composition competitions. In 2006 he worked in Buenos Aires with local improvisation group as invited by a local university and Finnish Embassy in Buenos Aires.
